25 May 2023: INTACH at Conversation in Art Event organised by Nepal Art Council

INTACH was invited by the Nepal Art Council (NAC) to share their real-time experiences gained through the implementation of the Government of India funded Conservation of Nepal’s Cultural Heritage projects. The focus of the event was to highlight the importance of conserving art and its relevance in the Nepali context. The event took place on 25 May 2023, at the Nepal Art Council in Kathmandu Babarmahal. It witnessed the presence of NAC members, local historians, and artists who gathered to learn from INTACH’s experiences and insights in the field of heritage conservation.

During the event, representative from INTACH shared their practical experiences gained from working on various conservation projects funded by the Government of India in Nepal. Emphasizing the significance of preserving and safeguarding Nepal’s rich artistic heritage and the relevance of art conservation in the Nepali context, the presentation aimed to provide valuable insights and lessons learned that could be applied to similar initiatives in Nepal. The event held at the Nepal Art Council served as a platform for stakeholders, including NAC members, local historians, and artists, to engage in meaningful discussions and exchange ideas. Furthermore, INTACH and NAC have already established a collaborative partnership for the development of training and capacity building programs.
